We hope the following will help in answering any questions you may have. If we have missed anything and you want more information please email or call.

How many pages will my website have?

The initial site is built with 4-5 pages, typically a ‘Home’ Page, an ‘About Us’ page, a page or two about a product or service, a custom contact form page and a Site map to help search engines ‘index’ all the pages in your site.

With our Bespoke Website Service we include up to 10 pages.

Can I use this for E-commerce?

Yes, certainly. You are responsible for any payment service you use e.g. Paypal. If you need to sell a range of items we can supply the software for an online shop for a small additional monthly fee.

Can I use this for hosting a Forum or a Membership site?

Yes, certainly. Additional software is needed which we can source and integrate for you for a small additional monthly fee.

Who will build the site?

We use a number of experienced WordPress savvy professionals plus experienced copywriters. All work is overseen and warranted by the owner of Oxford Web Design, Tony Harrison.

Why do you use WordPress for your CMS?

Because it is simply the best. No other system is utilised on more than a million sites world wide, is supported and updated by thousands of enthusiastic ‘geeks’ , has such a rich resource of professionally designed and robust ‘themes’ which can be modified to create significantly original websites that are affordable, robust, search engine friendly built-in and reliable. Compare that to a proprietary CMS (content management system) supported by a handful of company employees as offered by most of our few competitors.

What is a CMS?

Sorry, CMS stands for Content management System and is a piece of software that allows users to update the content typically of a web site.

The domain name is registered in your name from the outset. We provide the hosting of your site and the cost for the first 12 months is included. A fee of £50 per year applies thereafter, unless you opt for our continuation service. If you wish we can transfer the site to a hosting solution of your choice for a one off fee of £150.

How many images can I have on my site?

In principle, as many as you like. However there is a realistic maximum because the site will take time to load. Please feel free to discuss this with us

Can you source Royalty-free images for me?

Yes, no problem and the cost of these are included. We can also use your images assuming you have full rights to these.

How do I update my website?

WordPress based websites are very easy to update and we will help you do so if you wish. Experience suggests that posting new material to a ‘blog’ is a great way to keep the site ‘in front of the search engines’.

Will you Guarantee your work? What if I am unhappy with my site?

Yes. There are several stages in any work we do for you and we guarantee to meet your brief fully at each stage or you don’t pay.

The first stage if we are building a site for you comes with the basic layout matching your design brief. The second stage is when the core site ‘goes live.’ Further stages arise as we are due to add new material. If at any time you are unhappy with the site, you may terminate the contract.

How many email addresses do I get with my site?

We include 5 automatically and are happy to arrange more. In some instances there may be a small ‘one off’ fee if you require more than 10.

I already have a domain name, can I use that?

Yes, certainly. We will help you ‘point’ that domain to the website we build for you.
